53 Stocking Stuffer Ideas for Kids and Grandkids

53 Stocking Stuffer Ideas for Kids and Grandkids

Recently I was with my grandchildren, and they received a prize for doing a scavenger hunt in a State Park. We were all expecting a bag of candy for their reward. But instead, they received 5 or 6 items, none of which were edible.

Jump rope

That got me thinking about stocking stuffers. In the past, I gave my children some candy. I bought the chocolate coins wrapped in gold foil, a Lifesaver book, and maybe a candy cane. Yes, my children were excited to get candy, but would they be more excited if I gave them items that would not be gone in a few minutes? Things they could play with for weeks, months, maybe longer.

23 Fun Activities for Grandchildren

Grandchildren can be the greatest joy you have in your senior years. So please make the most of their visits, whether for a full day or several nights. Here are 23 fun activities for grandchildren when they spend a few days with you. Please take the opportunity to get to know them better and to teach them about something new. Yes, they can color coloring books, play in the backyard, go swimming in their pool, and play with the neighbor kids next door, but why do the same old thing. Instead, try something different and see how much fun trying something new might be for them.

If you have never had them overnight, I would try one night the first time. Grandchildren can wear you out.

Writing A Goodbye Letter to Your Grandchildren

Writing a Goodbye Letter

Have you thought about writing a goodbye letter to your grandchildren? As I age, I become more aware of the possibility that I will die before my grandchildren marry and have children of their own. And as I age, I hope I live long enough to see my grandchildren marry and have children who would be my great-grandchildren. But just in case I die sooner than these things happen, I want them to know a few things. Some things about my past, our shared values, and things that I hope for them.

A New Grandchild – Baby Love

Baby Love

There is something about a new grandchild that is so amazing, that we feel like we can never feel that in-love with a child again. At least until the next one is born. It’s baby love.

We recently were able to travel to see our latest grandchild. She is our fifth. Our first two were boys and now it’s been three girls in a row. We had seen pictures of her and had known she was a girl months before her birth. However, holding a child for the first time far exceeds seeing pictures. I believe that is when your love for that baby really sinks in.

My Dream for Children

My Dream for Children

My dream for children comes from being a grandma whose children had a much safer life than my grandchildren face today. It is a way for me to promote awareness of what children today can be subject to in their lifetimes. Also, it is my opinion that the desire of God would be that our world should place a higher regard on children, from the time they are conceived. For the safety of your children or grandchildren, please read the entire post. Additionally, note that anytime I am referring to a child or children I am referring to both boys and girls.

My dream for children is love, protection, and being taught values and truth. Children should receive a responsible education and learn about life and sex from their parents. In addition, they should never be treated differently because of their skin color. My dream for children is that they are cherished. As grandparents or parents, you are the protectors of those precious children. Unfortunately in today’s world, the task of raising a child is more important than ever. Here are my dreams for children and I hope they are yours, too.

Enjoying A Grandkids Weekend

Enjoying a Grandkids weekend. Have fun. Learn more about them. Teach them. Pray with them. Hugs and Kisses.

Two weeks before Christmas our son-in-law asked if we would be available in January to watch their three children, while he and our daughter went out of town to the coast. “Of course we will,” I said, “they are our grandkids.” And with that, we began planning on enjoying a grandkids weekend in the near future.

From January 23 through the 25th they stayed at our house while their parents went away for some time of relaxing, fresh air, and being alone. When the three grandkids arrived on Saturday morning they practically ran into the house. No need to say goodbye to mom and dad. They love coming to our house. It may have something to do with how we spoil them.
