


It has been about three and 1/2 months since I saw my audiologist to see if any hearing remained in my left ear. I had suspected I would have none and I didn’t. The following week I went to my primary neurosurgeon for my two-month follow-up appointment. I came with a list of questions. Right after the surgery, my mouth tasted like salt when I had a glass of water. It had now changed to a metal taste. My doctor assured me that it should go away within a year.
At the time of my appointment, I was still having a lot of balance issues. Pulling a sweatshirt over my head, closing my eyes to wash my face or hair, and turning my head too quickly to the right or left would cause the feeling of potentially falling. My doctor would have physical therapy contact me. He said that I would probably need 8 to 12 weeks of therapy. I was frustrated about not driving yet, but the physical therapy would get me to the point of driving if all went as planned.

Currently, in California we are under stay at home orders, due to the Coronavirus, so 25 things to do can help relieve that bored feeling. However, these things to do will work any day of the year when boredom strikes. Hopefully, you will find a suggestion or two that is just the thing for you to do today. It’s a great feeling at the end of a day to be able to say that you accomplished something, instead of hanging out, watching T.V. and feeling you wasted the whole day. As a bonus when you keep busy your day will seem to go by so much faster.


Hopefully, you are having a birthday soon, but not too soon. You might need time to set yourself up for your free gifts. And if you don’t have time before this year’s birthday, it’s time to get ahead for next year.
Free dessert is common at many restaurants on your birthday. It is possible you may have to show ID, but most times I’ve seen the employees will take your word. This free dessert maybe something small compared to their regular dessert menu features, but sometimes it’s right off the dessert menu. Your dessert may come with some of the employees singing happy birthday to you, which can be embarrassing. I am on Olive Garden’s free birthday dessert list and they gave me from two weeks before my birthday to one week after, to redeem my gift.
