Get Organized – Simply and Inexpensively

Get Organized

Many people rely on an expensive planner to organize their life. For some, this is the perfect solution. For others of us, it is too much. It’s too fancy, it has too many sections, it is time-consuming, and it’s too expensive. I plan to attempt to pull you over to the super simple and super inexpensive index card side. Give me a chance, I hope you will be pleasantly surprised. And you will save a lot of money over the next few years by trying it because there is no need to buy a new one every year.

I started using the index card system years ago and found it to be perfect for me. For an unknown reason, I stopped it and did nothing. I felt I was struggling to keep on top of things, so I tried out a planner. It wasn’t helping me enough. I tried using the different sections and ended up forgetting about them. So I’m back to my index cards. Super simple. Super inexpensive. I’m so excited. I hope you will be, too.

UTI – What you Should Know

UTI

You know the feeling, the awful feeling. You have another UTI. Urinary Tract Infection. As we age, we are more susceptible to urinary tract infections, especially after menopause. For anyone that has a hysterectomy, menopause may have come early, maybe in your thirties or forties. It’s not as common, but men can also get UTIs. A urinary tract infection is one of the top five most common infections.

Identifying a UTI

Once you have had one it’s easy to identify your next one. The signs of a UTI may vary by person. They include, but you may not necessarily have all of them: pain or burning feeling when you urinate, a burning feeling even when you aren’t urinating, and an urgency to go. With the urgency, if you ignore it you may not make it to the bathroom in time and when you arrive, you may be annoyed because only a little dribble will come out. It’s very frustrating, especially at night-time when you are trying to sleep. Other symptoms include cloudy or bloody urine, low-grade fever, and a change in smell or color of your urine.

Should You be Eliminating Credit Cards?

Eliminating credit cards

After my husband’s wallet was stolen, we went through the nightmare of trying to figure out what cards he had in his wallet. We had already been notified by one of the credit card companies about possible unapproved use. I love that the credit card companies today are so quick to spot fraud. The downside of that is that they know more about our spending habits than maybe they should.

The person that took my husband’s wallet used two credit cards. We ended up canceling four credit cards since we weren’t sure which ones he was carrying. The thief spent over $90 filling up his gas tank and apparently a friend’s, using two separate cards, at the same gas station. $10.23 at Jack in the Box bought him some breakfast. The oddest thing to us was the $31.77, for running a background check on someone, that, fortunately, was not us. But I did have to call to make sure it wasn’t on us. He didn’t get much, but still, he wasn’t entitled to anything.

It was time to do something.

I had been thinking it was time to get rid of a few more credit cards before this happened. How about you? Do you have a large number of credit cards, some of which you could eliminate? Today may be a good day to start working on that, before they are stolen, whether physically or over the internet.

It Only Takes a Second – Are your Affairs in Order?

Are your Affairs in Order

On May 19, 2019, my husband and I were returning home from visiting our son and his family. It was a rainy day, sometimes heavy.

In the car, I was researching a diagnosis for my current ailment. I wasn’t having much success. My husband interrupted my thoughts somehow and I looked up to see a motorcycle in the lane to our right fly backward through the air, the rider also flying in the air. Before that sunk in, I realized the car nearest to us was coming over into our lane, most likely trying to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of him. The car was so close that I closed my eyes, not wanting to see the impact, which would likely injure me.
