My 2023 Goals List
It’s a different list this year. It’s shorter. I hope it’s more doable if I only focus on three things. I didn’t do so well last year. How did you do? I hope you are better than me. Here is my June monthly update.
- Walk 1000 miles. Progress: I made reasonable progress. I’ve walked 443.9 miles for the year. Only 91.5 miles for June which is less than I walked in May. I think I can meet this goal as long as I keep up my walking routine. However, we had our first 100+ weather this weekend, which gives me little time to walk, because it’s too hot.
- Read the Bible in a year. Progress: I’m up to date. My church started this January 1.
- Lose five pounds. Progress: Not so good. Well, I have a bad June. I walked a lot but I also ate a lot. At this moment, I am only 0.5 down for the year. That’s a long way from 5 pounds. I know I need to work harder on that. If I continue going up and down, I need to be closer to ten pounds to remain 5 pounds down for the year. We have a class reunion coming up next year, so there is more incentive this time around.
So if you have a list, share it with me in the comments below. We can do this together, and hopefully, we all succeed this year. So, really, how did you do last year? And did that change your list for this year–either longer or shorter?
Good morning (July 17, 2023
I ‘m not good in keeping up with what I do. This month I’m trying to be persistent in workout, mostly walking as well. I just walk around in my house and backyard. Sometimes I get on treadmill for 30min for 2 or 3days. At night I do situps laying down in bed. I read the Bible through the year, me and my husband. That’s a must. Haven’t retired yet. Still working. Pray everything the Lord will keep you on His schedule for everything. You have a God fill day. Jesus loves you. ❤️
Thank you Olivia Belk for responding. It sounds like you are doing a great job of keeping up with your goals. Congratulations. I ended up retiring before I expected because of my health, but if it weren’t for that I would be retired by now. Retirement is a very personal decision. And sometimes, as in my case, God had a different plan than I did. God bless you Olivia!
