Testing Your Hearing

Hearing Testing

Testing your hearing is more important than you think. If you had asked several years ago, if I should be concerned about my hearing, I would have replied not yet, I’m too young. I was so wrong. Take my advice and protect your hearing now, before you lose it.

This is what I suggest you do this month, or at least start the process. You never know when you have waited too long, to save your hearing.

October is Protect Your Hearing Month – 4 Things to Do Now – Reposted

check your hearing. October is Protect Your Hearing Month - 4 things to do now

If you had asked me in early 2019 if I should be concerned about my hearing, I would have replied, not yet, I’m too young. I was so wrong. With October being Protect your Hearing Month, I’ve decided to encourage my readers to avoid what I have gone through. Protect your hearing now, before you lose it.

This is what I suggest you do this month, or at least get the process going. You never know when you have waited too long to save your hearing.

My 2023 Goals September Update

September goals

It’s a different list this year. It’s shorter. I hope it’s more doable if I only focus on three things. I didn’t do so well last year. How did you do? I hope you are better than me. Here is my September monthly update.

  1. Walk 1000 miles. Progress: I made reasonable progress. I’ve walked 652.2 miles for the year. That leaves only 347.8 for the next 3 months. I think I can meet this goal as long as I keep up my walking routine and average over 120 miles a month, which obviously I am not doing.
  2. Read the Bible in a year. Progress: I’m up to date. My church started this January 1. I have to admit; it has been very interesting. Even though I’ve read the whole Bible several times in my life, I always seem to discover something new.
  3. Lose five pounds. Progress: Starting over.  In July and August, I was shocked to be gaining weight practically every three days. I thought I had stabilized and hoping to lose weight again soon. At the end of September, I was up 5 pounds from what I weighed at the beginning of the year. One pound over August. Wrong way! I’m trying once again to lose weight.

So if you have a list, share it with me in the comments below. We can do this together, and hopefully, we all succeed this year. So, really, how did you do last year? And did that change your list for this year–either longer or shorter? Three months to go in the year. Yikes.

Finding out you have Sleep Apnea

sleep apnea

Are you feeling tired and having a difficult time getting out of bed in the morning? For the last few months, I have been feeling tired when I wake up. And by 4 PM, I felt ready for a nap, or maybe to go to bed for the night. I was also gaining weight. My doctor had suggested a sleep study. I told her I would wait and see if I started feeling better. It only got worse. And then I noticed I was waking up with a headache.
